Miss Liberia Maryland/Miss Liberia in the US 2008 Mamawa Fofana
encourages Liberian youth to vote.

On Sunday March 9th Miss Liberia in the US Mamawa Fofana attended the LCA Washington
DC Metropolitian Area Chapter for the 2008 Elections. She spent the entire day meeting and
greeting Liberians from all over the Washington DC Metropolitian Area. As they came to cast
their voter for the two camps (the Kear/Smith Party and the Johnson/Harris Party). Voters
came out in record numbers there were over 800 Liberians who registers and about 500 who
came out on election day.

Miss Liberia Maryland introduces the Princess mentoring Program

On Sunday April 20,the Miss Liberia Maryland Organization launched  the Miss Liberia
Maryland Princess Mentor Program. Our goal is to motivate and mentor Liberian young
women and share experiences that will inspire them to dream of being Miss Liberia
Maryland and ultimately Miss Liberia in the US .

Korvi Kamara Captures the 2008 Miss Liberia Maryland title

.Silver Spring Maryland-June 22 2008

.Family freinds and as well guests from states from as far South as North Carolina and as North as year
was by far the most heavily attended pageant year in its entire history

This year contestants represented counties that spanded across the state from  Baltimore to Frederick
counties

The winner was 19 year-old Miss Korvi Kamara of Montgomery County 1st Runner up Lisa Togba, 2nd
Runner and Liberia Ambassador Award winner Joanna King, 3rd Runner up Miss Shade Toweh, and 4th
ruuner up Niemetta Nimely.


Miss Karmara attends Montgomery College Takoma Park Campus Majoring in Journalism and English
Literature. She enjoys writing, politics, and fashion design

During her reign she will promote her platform by launching an Liberian awareness campaign to foster a
positive cultural PR presence in the Maryland /DC Metropolitian Area.

Miss Kamara will be awarded a $500 pageant scholarship as well as a slew of other prizes. . The 2008
event was sponsored by Progress in Unity Organization, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Accents by Design, an
Swanns Impressions, Alphagraphics, Embroid Me, and Gem Imaging Events and Studios
2009 Baltimore Contestant Call
The Miss Liberia Maryland Organization will be hosting the first casting call for contestants On Saturday
March 14 at Security Square Mall in Baltimore MD  Be prepared to fill out applications forms and on the spot
